What Makes the ProjectExperts Unique?

Years of International Market PM Performance
Most of today's PM consultancies weren't even in the market 15 years ago, not to mention 28 years ago. ProjectExperts has served corporations, government agencies, and consultancies on six continents since 1982.

Curriculum LevelsTargeted Curriculum Within Curricula
Most Project Management consultants and trainers use a "one size fits all" approach. Our Learning experiences and methodologies target multiple levels of PM size and intensity, with a series of Executive or Management Overviews, PM Practitioner skill-building sessions, plus more appropriate short-duration Learning for small project managers and individual contributors.

Why offer a 5-day (or 20-day) curriculum to all project participants, when the majority of your project participants require only a 2-3 day Learning experience to improve their project Per4mance? See our introduction to our targeted Executive, Practitioner and Individual Contributor Learning experiences. Modular PM

Modular Project Management®
Our curriculum of Project Management practitioner Learning experiences includes a wide range of relevant and focused modules that savvy customers mix to custom-configure their own curriculum. No others offer this flexibility in applying the specific Learning Objectives you need to improve project performance.

Skills Needs Assessment Process SNAP logo (SNAP)
For our PM Practitioner curriculum, SNAP, with its pre- and post-course evaluation, has helped discerning Enterprises to target the right level of intensity for each topic or learning objective. For Learning experience customizing and post-course performance evaluation, few project management offerings match this level of measurement—way beyond smile sheets. SNAP is only available as a service with our PM Practitioner series of Learning experiences. Want to know more? See our Adobe Acrobat sample SNAP.

Improving Individual and Team PM Per4mance Competence
CompModel iconSince 1984, PM CompModel, our Project Management Competence (or Competency) Model has helped Project Managers, Team Members, Resource Managers, Sponsors, PMO Managers, and other key stakeholders to improve Project Management Competence and Per4mance. Obviously, improving PM Per4mance goes far beyond just sending people to class; this tools helps to understand the additional interventions needed to truly improve performance.

Used by thousands seeking better Per4mance, PM CompModel has been adopted by asapm®, the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management, as the tool of choice for determining the best investment in improving project Per4mance. This is smarter than wasting money on irrelevant and generic PM training that fails to target your teams' actual developmental needs. PM CompModel licensees intelligently move beyond rote memorization of simple knowledge, to assess and develop skills, behavioral attributes, competence and PM Per4mance. Are you competent as a PM?

Range of PM Methods and Tools
Co-PilotPM Per4mance is not just all about training and coaching. It also requires appropriate methods and tools. Our methods have helped many businesses, government agencies and consultancies to improve their PM Per4mance.

Our KnowRisk® Risk Management tools brought innovation to the industry. Our universal, Enterprise-wide Co-Pilot: Small Project Guide® PM methodology has helped tens of thousands for over 20 years, our MinProj methodology (Minimum Method, Maximum Results) provides consistency of methods across your Enterprise.

And of course, our Information Technology Project Management and Systems Delivery methdology, THE Guide, has also helped tens of thousands of practitioners for over 20 years. See our Products section for all these methods and tools and more.

LicensingWorkshop Licensing and Train Your Trainers
For our mainstream series of practitioner Learning experiences, we offer Enterprises the opportunity to license a class, then train your trainers in its delivery. When combined with our SNAP (Skills Needs Assessment Process) tool, you can assure that your trainers have mastered the material and its delivery.

Thinking Beyond the BOKBOK
Our methods don't just copy the PMBOK® Guide; in fact, our Learning experiences and methods preceded Duncan's 1991-1996 achievement and Max Wideman's original 1987 PMBOK. Yet, we are fully consistent with the current PMBOK Guide, where we do not extend far beyond it. Example: Special application areas, such as Information Technology, need far more help than any BOK can provide—and we provide it.

Another Beyond the BOK application: Memorization of processes does not improve project Per4mance. Our methods and Learning extend beyond rote memorization, to identify the knowledge, skills, enabling attitudes, and competences your teams require to improve Project and Program Per4mance.

Insightful Articles and Publications
Our articles and publications have been re-published (with permission) on websites and in magazines world-wide. And, we don't just stop there; we managed the project to develop the USA's National Competence Baseline, participated in the project to update the IPMA Competence Baseline and PM Institute's Competence Development Framework 2.0, wrote a chapter for Germany's National Competence Baseline, and a chapter for a recently published book by PM Institute. Prolific? Yes! Insightful? Always! See a selection of our articles here on this website.

Consultant to Consultants
In addition to helping Enterprises and Government agencies across six continents to improve their project and program management performance, we have also provided the secret weapon of consultancies large and small, who use our methods, and integrate them with their own offerings. For many, the result: They win more bids, and make greater profit on bids won. That's why we are the ProjectExperts!

Supporting Professional Organizationsasapm logo
In addition to involvement in the above mentioned Program and Project Management associations, asapm and PM Institute, our principal is the USA Representative to IPMA, the International Project Management Association. Our Learning experiences provide support for initial certification, ranging from knowledge-based (but not exam-cram) to performance-based, advanced certifications.

Our Learning experiences offer recertification credits for the PM Institute, and for asapm and IPMA. We are registered with the asapm Competence Enabler program, for PM training organizations that know how to move beyond knowledge, and beyond simple process memorization, to improved competence and PM Per4mance.
